7-21-25   THOUGHTS

David prays, and trembles and meditates in his heart on his bed... he is still.  God answers and is gracious.  David is set apart for God.  Peace and safety are given by God!  David is glad.  It’s a cycle of man where God and man walk together.  It’s relationship pursued by both parties.  Gladness is given to the man part.  Seek earnestly to ABIDE IN GOD’S PRESENCE!

Ps 4:1-8   Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.  2  O sons of men, how long will my honor become a reproach? How long will you love what is worthless and aim at deception? Selah. 3  But know that the LORD has set apart the godly man for Himself;  The LORD hears when I call to Him. 4  Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.  5  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And trust in the LORD. 6   Many are saying, "Who will show us any good?" Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O LORD! 7  You have put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound. 8  In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O LORD, make me to dwell in safety.

A Prayer:
All praise to our God who is good. We thank You for the lives we lead, and Your gracious peace upon us.  Help us to pass on Your goodness blessings to our world.  May we open the eyes of others to see the salvation of our Lord.  Help us to see that the only sense is in the eternal.  Teach us to extinguish the fleshly things of this world that weigh us down.  Teach us the self-denial that comes from an intense, focused love that continually abides in our hearts.  Draw us near to You, O God!  In Jesus’ name,    Amen.
